The LexArtSci Theater began life purpose-built by craftsmen for a working dairy barn. Cattle were housed below the barn, and hay was stored overwinter in what is now the stage and 110-theater seating area. A 50-inch steel circulation fan in the main area, used to keep the feed dry, remains to-date. Previously known as New Lex, the theater served as the venue for countless dramatic, dance, music, readings and artistic performances.
We plan to convert the Theater into a flexible, multi-function venue, performance and recreational space to support the mission of Lexington Arts + Science and Lexington community use.
